Mold in your home

Mold can get in your home through vents, doors, windows, and heating/air conditioning units. Also, mold can grow in places with a lot of moisture such as around leaks in the ceiling, pipes, windows, or where there was some flooding.
4 tips on how you can control mold growth in your home:
- Controlling the humidity levels in your home. Levels should be no higher than 50%. An air conditioner or dehumidifier will help you keep the level low.
- Use exhaust fans which vent outside your house in the kitchen and bathroom. Make sure your dryer vents outside your home as well.
- Immediately fix leaking windows, doors, and ceiling.
- Thoroughly cleaning up within 24-48 hours after a flood.
Mold growth can have a musty smell and be different colors. If you can see or smell the mold in your home, your health can be at risk.
